Welding

13 Weeks

Introduction to Industry – 1 week / Pre-Apprentieship – 8 weeks / Work Placement with an employer – Up to 4 Weeks

You will learn the skills needed to start your welding career including preparing, shaping and then welding a variety of materials and structures. Upon successful completion of the Pre-Apprenticeship you will gain a EAL MIG Welding (L1) qualification.


Step 1: Introduction to Industry – 1 weeks
NCFE Employability Award –  Level 1 Award plus various industry taster sessions and Functional Skills assessment and training

 

Step 2: Welding Pre-Apprenticeship  – 8 weeks

Qualifications:
EAL Preparing to work in the Engineering Manufacturing Industry - Level 2 Certificate Functional Skills Training

Including some industry certificates for safe working practice:

  • ECITB CCNSG
  • AIS Working at Height
  • AIS Abrasive Wheels
  • AIS Electrical Awareness
  • AIS Asbestos Awareness
  • AIS Confined Space
  • AIS Manual Handling
  • First Aid at Work

Core Skill:
EAL MIG Welding - Level 1
