What does each course include?

Each course starts with a 2 week Introduction to Employability and Industry where you will learn the fundamentals required for each Industry sector including functional skills training tailored to industry. Over the course of the next 6 weeks you will gain a level 2 qualification as well as some industry recognised training qualifications which may include Working at Height, Abrasive Wheels, Asbestos Awareness, Confined Space, First Aid and Manual Handling.


As part of your pre-apprenticeship course you will be offered a work placement in a local business, for a period of up to 4 weeks. You’ll be part of the team learning from experienced industrial professionals, seeing how the skills you’ve built are used in practice.



This Pre-Apprenticeship Programme will give you the skills you need to start your welding career, including preparing, shaping and then welding a variety of materials and structures. Upon successful completion you will gain a EAL Level 2 qualification.


Scaffolding is an integral skill in many industry sectors including Construction, Offshore Oil & Gas, Heavy Industry and Manufacturing. On our Pre-Apprenticeship Programme, you'll learn in state-of-the-art facilities building your knowledge of the terminology, equipment and working practices considered to become a scaffolding professional.


Our Pre-Apprenticeship will provide you with a great insight into the Engineering Industry.
