Free Event to Help Businesses Navigate Apprenticeship Changes

16 February 2017

AIS Connect is launching its brand new partnership with East Durham College at a free informative event which will take place between 9am and 11am on Tuesday 28th February at the AIS Connect Academy in North Shields.
As well as joining us for a pancake breakfast, in recognition of Shrove Tuesday, it aims to help businesses get the most out of new funding rules and make sense of the apprenticeship levy.
From April, the Government is changing the way it funds apprenticeships including the removal of age restrictions and introducing a levy system for companies with an annual wage bill of over £3m.
North East employers can find out more about these changes, how to make the new apprenticeship reforms actually benefit their business and preview the unique offer AIS Connect has developed with East Durham College.
The event will include a number of presentations from key speakers including George Ritchie MBE, Chairman of the North East Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and Associate Director at PX Group alongside Rob Storey and Kate Lovelock from AIS Connect and Anthony Mills from East Durham College. There will be networking opportunities with key stakeholders and the event will conclude with a tour of AIS world class training village.
Head of Education at AIS Connect, Rob Storey, said: “We know many businesses are still unclear about the new apprenticeship changes being introduced from April and how this will affect them.
“Hopefully our event will help to shed light on the new rules and highlight the opportunities available to help companies grow their business by developing a talented workforce for the future”.
